Barbara Davis STATESVILLE, North Carolina Obituary

Barbara Davis

And God shall wipe away all tears from our eyes, and there shall be no more sorrow. A smile for all, a heart of gold One of the finest this world could hold Never selfish, always kind These are the memories she leaves behind... Ms. Barbara Lee Davis, 67, of 1302 Wilson Lee Boulevard, was born in Iredell County on August 30, 1947. She was the daughter of the late Mose and Elva Lee Cuthrell Davis. She departed this life on Thursday, February 5, 2015, at Brian Center Health and Retirement Center in Salisbury. She was a graduate of Unity, and attended Catawba College in Salisbury. At one time, she was employed by Clark Components and Iredell Statesville Schools. She was a former member of the Twinette Club, and St. John Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Mose Davis and John Lewis Davis. Left to remember and celebrate her life are her sons, Timothy (Harriet) Davis of Statesboro, Georgia, Rodney O. Davis of Statesville, Todd Moore and Tyrone Parker; goddaughters, Maureen Davidson and Beverly Barber; grandchildren, Robin Frazier, Tyrone Merchant, Tamashia Dixon, Bediako Gaines, Shatara Jones, Shaquille Jones, Tierre McCullough, Timothy Davis, Jr., Timyia Davis, and Porcha Griffin; great grandchildren, Chloe Kelis Gaines and Tevyn Merchant; a niece, Sharon Turner Odom; nephews, Donnell Chambers, Keonte Chambers, John L. Chambers, Lamont Rucker, Dupree Falls, Harvey Caldwell, Floyd Allison, Jr., Michael Johnson and Timothy Turner; close friends, Vincent Carter and Mandy Jones; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends. In tears we saw you sinking, and watched you fade away Our hearts were almost broken, we wanted you to stay But when we saw you sinking, so peacefully free from pain How could we wish you back with us, to suffer that again; It breaks our hearts to lose you, but you do not go alone For part of us went with you, the day God called you home. Lovingly submitted, The Family Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Wednesday, February 12, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at the Mary B. Bigham Memorial Chapel of Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home. Ms. Davis will remain at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home where members of the family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m., but will assemble at the residence at other times. Rutledge and Bigham is serving the Davis Family.
