Mrs. Brenzell Telara Taylor Summers, 35, of 156 Vermillion Loop, Statesville, passed away at Iredell Memorial Hospital on Friday, July 15, 2016, unexpectedly. She was born in Iredell County on April 16, 1981, and was the daughter of Phillip Taylor and Bonita Elaine Adams Taylor. She was raised by her loving mother, Bonita, her pastor, Dr. C. Randy Minor, and with the support of her family, church family and friends. She was a graduate of Alexander Central High School Class of 1999 and also graduated from Emory and Henry College in Emory, Virginia and was a faithful and dedicated member of Mt. Calvary Holiness Church. She was a Clinical Research Specialist at Baptist Hospital and later Inventiv Health. In addition to her mother, Bonita, her father, Phillip; she leaves to cherish the memory of her life, her husband, Tyrone Summers of the home; her other daddy and momma, Ken and Debbie Bennett; her maternal grandmother, Elmeta Adams; her nephew, Kirsean Gabriel; her mother-in-law, Drucilla Summers; her brother-in-law, Corey Summers; her sister-in-law, Amanda Summers; godmother, RayNell (John) Poole; godfather, C. Randy Minor; her godsisters, Erica (Todd) Connor, Barbara (Perry) Knox and Felecia Gamble; her godchildren, Myah Roseboro, Zayden Linster, D. J. Williams, Kylon Minor, Taia Blont, Malayah Adams; her best friends, Alisha Lackey and Carla Williams; her children at Mt. Calvary Holiness Church, whom she held a special love for; her aunts and uncles; cousins, her church family, other relatives, and dear friends. Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Holiness Church with Dr. C. Randy Minor, Officiating. Burial will follow in the Zion Chapel AME Zion Church in Hiddenite. Mrs. Summers will remain at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home until taken to the church to lie in state at 1:30 p.m. Members of the family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m., but will assemble at the residence at other times. Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home is serving the Summers Family.
