Apr 2 at 5:09 PM Mrs. Camilla (Joyce) Martin Wilson, 70, of 595 Liberty Church Road, Taylorsville, entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 2, 2019, at New Outlook of Taylorsville. She was born in Iredell County on July 9, 1948. And was the daughter of the late Vernon Martin and Pauline Thomas Martin. She was married to Jesse Wilson of the home, who survives. Joyce, as she was affectionately known, attended Unity High School and had attented South Iredell AME Zion church before moving to Taylorsville. She worked at New Hope Rest Home of Taylorsville in the housekeeping department. Joyce will truly be missed. She leaves to cherish the memories of her life in addition to her husband, Jesse Wilson, one daughter, Phyllis Ann Martin (Kenneth) Smith, of Statesville; one step daughter, Nicky Phillips, of Wisconcin; five brothers, Rex (Oma) Martin, of Booneville, Jeffrey Martin, of Conover, and Johnny Ray (Sally) Martin Wilksboro, Alfred Martin, of Statesville, and Alfred Martin of Winston Salem;four sisters, Margaret (Arthur Lee) Kennedy of Mooresville, Betty Martin of Yadkinville, Catherine Martin of Statesville, and Bettie Sales, one stepson, Eddie Phillips; three brothers-in-law, Clyde (Meryle) Wilson of Olin, William (Bessie) Wilson, of Olin, Roy Wilson Harmony; 2 sisters-in-law, Diane Chambers of Olin and Sharon (Cenite) Patterson; four grandchildren, Kenya Martin, Kisha Martin, Karen Brown, and Kimberly (Maurice) Campbell; thirteen great great grandchildren, Jaquan Martin, Minika Martin, Brandon Torrence, Naiba Torrence, Makira Daniels, Makayra Daniels, Asia Daniels, Corey Daniels Jr., Clayton Brown, Nevada Campbell, Cynce Campbell, Jada Brown, and Misiah Martin; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Friday April 5, 2019, at Rutledge and Bigham at 1:00 pm. The family will receive friends from 12-1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Reverend Ussey will do the eulogy. Reverend John Cowan will officiate. The family will assemble at 595 Liberty Church Road, Taylorsville, at all other times.
