Remembering the Life of

Ms. Charissa LaShea Hairston

A smile for all, a heart of gold,

one of the finest this world could hold,

Never selfish, always kind,

these are the memories she leaves behind…

Ms. Charissa LaShea Hairston, beloved daughter of April Michelle Walker and Darrell Lamont Hairston, was born in North Wilkesboro on July 20, 1991. She departed this life on August 3, 2020, in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Shea, as she was affectionately called, attended Wilkes Central High School in Wilkesboro and enjoyed having fun with her family and friends, especially teasing her cousins and siblings. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Deborah Ann Walker.

She leaves to cherish and remember her life, her mother, April M. Walker of the home; her father, Darrell L. Hairston of Columbus, Ohio; siblings, Shayla Hairston “Baby Sister” of Wilkesboro, Chris Weary, Jr. and Chrisna Weary, both of West Palm Beach, Florida; niece, Gabriella Brown of Charlotte; nephew, Gabe Brown of Charlotte, NC; her cousins, Corey Smith, Jazmine Brown and Jada Walker; aunts and uncles, Stephanie Walker, Cynthia Jones, Robert Hairston and Don Hairston; and a host of other relatives and many dear friends.

It seems so unreal that you are gone

When just the other day

You walked and talked and laughed with us

Then suddenly slipped away

Your peaceful smile, your joyful laugh

How sweet the memory still

Your parting left an aching void

This world will never fill.

Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the Mountain Park Cemetery in Wilkesboro.
