Courtney DeAna Byers, 22, of 724 West Pine Circle, Statesville, died in Rock Hill South Carolina on Thursday, May 10, 2012, unexpectedly. She was born in Iredell County on September 25, 1989, and was the daughter of Jeffrey Todd Campbell and Natasha Anne Byers. She was a graduate of West Iredell High School. Survivors in addition to her parents are her stepfather, Michael Miller; maternal grandmother, Catherine Knox of Statesville; her paternal grandmother, Hilda Campbell (Clyde) Young of Statesville; her maternal great grandmother, Ollie McClain; her grandmother, Mary Grant Byers of Statesville; 3 brothers, Cameron Donte Byers of Statesville, Michael Ferguson of Fort Mill, SC and Jeffrey Todd Campbell, Jr. of Statesville; three sisters, Jasmine King, Je’Breka Campbell and Je’Nila Campbell, all of Statesville; a niece, Destiny O. Sharpe; a host of aunts and uncles including, William Tyson (Sheena) Byers; Michael (Monique) Byers of Taylorsville, Vernon Emmanuel Byers, Deon Campbell, Donya Allison and Brenda (Harvey) McCullough, all of Statesville; a host of great aunts and uncles including, Wanda Burrell of Pontiac, Michigan, Brenda (Harry) Turner of Statesville, Idella (William) Maxwell of Troutman; Calvin Byers of Statesville, Randy (Mary) Allison of Bladenburg, Mary and Michael (Regina) Allison of Statesville; and a host of cousins including Cha’yana T. McGee, Michael (Shennwia) Allison, Michelle Allison and JaLea Byers, all of Statesville; other relatives and friends. Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. in the Mary B. Bigham Memorial Chapel of Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home. Reverend Ira McCullough will officiate and Bishop Sam Thomas will assist. Ms. Byers will remain at the funeral home until the Celebration hour, but family will assemble at the residence of her grandmother, Catherine Knox, at other times.
