Mr. Derrick Dwyatt Ramseur, 50, of 1013 Wall Street, Statesville, was born in Iredell County on November 30,1967, and was the son of Charlie Ramseur, and Betty Jean Burton. He departed this life on Wednesday, April 3, 2018, at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Derrick will truly be missed.

He attended the Iredell Statesville Schools, where he graduated, and also had two years of college. Derrick was a certified electrician, owned the Shelton Avenue Car Wash, as well as his own trucking business.
In addition to his parents, Charlie Ramseur and Betty Jean Burton, Derrick is survived by five brothers, Java L. Harris, Quadarias Bailey, Charles Ramseur, Steve Allen (Francis) Burton, Sherman (Dena) Burton; seven sisters, Harriett Irene Burton, Angela Ramseur Ikard, Angela Mosley, Fralicha Ramseur, Shelia (Terry) Roseboro, Elder Emily Ramseur, Paula Ramseur (Samuel) Houpe; god daughters, LaToya Boller, Travis, Sr., Lera Chambers, Kee-Kee, Quani, Toy, Travis, Jr., Jamiyla, Sa’Dreama, and Jour’nee; friends, Tim Brown, Tory Howell, Al Bellamy, and Kevin Myers; special friend, Natika Chambers; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be conducted on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, 2:00 p.m., at Christian Outreach Center, Statesville. Members of the family will receive friends at the church from 1:00-2:00 p.m., but will assemble at the residence of Fralicha Ramseur, 1208 Industrial Drive, Statesville, at other times.
