Mr. Donnie Eugene Stevenson, 60, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2013, at Wake Forest Medical Center, Winston-Salem, unexpectedly. He was born in Iredell County on May 6, 1952, and was the son of the late Rome and Addie Mae Peet Stevenson. He was married to Mary Jones Stevenson, who survives.

In addition to his wife, he is survives by two sons, Donnie DeWayne (Cassanda) Stevenson of Dayton, Ohio and Tobby Scott (Ashanti) Stevenson of Greensboro; five daughters, Stephanie Gail Stevenson of Dayton, Ohio, Malissa Jones, April Stevenson, Calandra (Ronnie Wellman, Jr.) Stevenson and Mandy Jones, all of Statesville; three brothers, Billy Rome Stevenson, Michael (Rosalinda) Stevenson, both of Statesville and Kevin (Alma Jean) Stevenson of Troutman; seven sisters, Mildred (Shirley) Ramseur of Harmony, Betty Joe Eckles of Statesville, Carol Steele of Harmony, Doris Coleman of Statesville, Kay Frances (Harrison) Gillespie of Harmony, Queen Steele of Harmony and Lillian Dye of Harmony; thirty grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Thursday, November 21, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. in the Mary B. Bigham Memorial Chapel of Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home. Bishop Jamie Jackson will officiate and Rev. Joe Jones will eulogize. Burial will follow in the Belmont Cemetery.

Mr. Stevenson will remain at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home where members of the family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:00 p.m., but will assemble at the residence at other times.
