Mrs. Dorothy Nichols Rose Mrs. Dorothy Nichols Rose, 67, of 300 Mt. Bethel Road, Harmony, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at the Novant Health in Huntersville. She was born in Iredell County on March 8, 1948, and was the daughte rof the late Carson and Ella Mae McClendon Nichols. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lynn C. Nichols and a sister, Lula W. Nichols. She was a graduate of Unity High School and made her home in Harmony. She loved reading the bible, working in her yard gardening, making flower arrangements, and being with family and friends. She leaves to cherish the memory of her life her son, Channing Rose of Statesville; one brother, William C. (Carolyn) Nichols of Harmony; one sister, Lillie (Jerome) N. Boswell of Harmony; one grandchild, Kendra Smyre of Troutman; one great grandchild; and several who were raised as sisters and brothers are Edward (Deborah), Shirley (Larry) and Winifred, a special nephew, Derek, special nieces, Shanlyn, Twanna and Tanya; and a host of other relatives and friends. Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Sunday, May 24, 2014 at 3:00 pm at Rocky Creek AME Zion Church in Harmony. Rev. Mark Parsons will officiate and burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Members of the family received friends from 2:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., at the church, but will assemble at the residence. Rutledge and Bigham Mortuary, Statesville will be serving the Rose family.
