Mr. Eddie Lee Torrence, was born in Iredell County on September 21, 1932 and was the son of the late Lester and Vera McCorkle Torrence. He departed this life on Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at Maple Leaf Health Care following an extended illness.

He attended the Iredell County Schools and also attended Shinnsville United Church of Christ. He was married to Annie Ophelia Campbell Torrence, who survives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Eddie Gaines; a brother, Robert Torrence, a sister, Roberta Torrence and his step-mother, Esther Torrence.

Dump, as he was affectionately called, leaves to cherish the memory of his life his wife, Annie Torrence of the home; three daughters, Sandra (Larry) Reid, Phyllis Stinson and Cynthia Torrence, all of Statesville, nine grandchildren, Anthony Reid, Keith Reid, Michael Torrence, Daniel (LaJohnna) Torrence, Brandon Torrence, Shamika Reid, Valerie Heaggans and Larry Reid, Jr., all of Statesville and Patrice Torrence of Mooresville; a host of great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
