Eric Douglas Smith

<p>Mr. Eric Douglas Smith, son of the late Earl Smith Sr., and Ruby Mae Etta Flowers, was born in Catawba County on November 24, 1959. He departed this life on March 23, 2015. </p><p><br></p><p>He was a graduate of Happy Plains High School, Taylorsville and certifications from Mitchell Community College, Caldwell Community College and he also attended Military School. He was a member of New Hope Deliverance Center He was married to Eva Davis Smith, who survives. He was preceded in death by his step-mother, Sylvia Jo Smith.</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to his wife, he leaves to cherish the memory of his life, two sons, Billy Ray (Aron) Davis, Jr., of Newton, and Bradley Dwayne Davis of Statesville; a daughter, Selina Antoinette (Brian) Stevenson of Claremont; five brothers, Delton Earl Springs of Mooresville, Earl (Latasha) Smith, Jr. of Rural Hall, Stanley Wayne (Paulette) Smith of Catawba, Michael Smith of Taylorsville and Bland “Frog” Simpson of Conover; five sisters, Teresa Dianne Smith of Statesville, Kimberly Rochelle (Robert) Thomas of Wilkesboro, Priscilla Elaine (Donald) Roberts of Greensboro, Coralee Brown of Taylorsville and Ann (Ronnie) Corpening of Conover; 18 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including a special friend, Evangelist Morris J. McKinney. </p><p><br></p><p><br></p>
