Mr. Freddie Lee Daye, 78, was born in Iredell County on July 30, 1939 and was the son of the late Moses and Gladys Scott Daye. He departed this ife on Monday, June 11, 2018, at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville following an extended illness.

He attended the Iredell County Schools and was a Truck Driver for many years. He attended Highland Acres Church of Christ. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by a son, Mark Daye; four grandchildren, Shannon Lackey, Jabarionna Daye, Dedrick Daye, Nakia Dham Duham; and four brothers, Harold (Clara) Daye, Lonnie (Edna) Daye, Troy Daye and Roy Daye.

He leaves to cherish the memory of his life, his loving and devoted wife of the home, Sarah Chambers Daye; his children, Deborah Daye of Statesville, Freddie (Buffy) Daye, Wanda Daye, and Tina Daye, all of Statesville, Phyllis Daye of Charlotte, Kenneth (Renee) Daye, Jahmean Glover, and Jamel Mapp, all of Statesville, and Chanelle (Warren) Daye of Foster, Georgia; two sisters-in-law, Connie K. Daye and Mary W.
