Ms. Geraldine BUnch, 79, of 366 Medlin Street, passed away at the Gordon Hospice House on Tuesday, October 13, 2015, following an extended illness. She was born in Windsor, N. C. on December 24, 1935, and was the daughter of the late Slade and Elsie Jordan Bunch. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ella Ruth Warren Spivey, and four brothers, William Henry Bunch, Percy Bunch, Thomas Warren Bunch and Booker T. Bunch. She attended the Bertie County Schools. She made her home in Statesville for many years and was a member of Bethel Congregational Church. Her hobbies included cooking, caring and raising her children and she was also a cook for the Rankintown Reunion. She leaves to remember her life her daughter, Loretta Bunch of Statesville; two grandchildren, Deidre (Tony) Summers and Ricky Bunch, both of Statesville; five great grandchildren, Marshae Wilson, Julius French, Anthony "AJ" Summers, Jr., Keenan Bunch and Alteerek Bunch, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, neighbors, church family and dear friends. Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Sunday, October 18, 2015, at 1:30 p.m. at The Mary B. Bigham Memorial Chapel of Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home. Reverend James Williams will officiate and burial will follow next week in the Belmont Cemetery. Ms. Bunch will remain at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home where members of the family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m., but will assemble at the residence of her daughter, Loretta Bunch, 224 Hartness Road, Statesville, at other times. Rutledge and Bigham Mortuary is serving the Bunch Family.
