Gregory Lamont Swift, 48, of 1336 11th Street, was born in Iredell County on AUgust 14, 1967 and was the son of the late John Henry Ford Revels and Berthine Parks Revels. He departed this life on Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at Iredell Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. He attended DMattThompson School and the Job Corp where he studied cooking. He was a member of Holy Faith Church. He leaves to cherish the memory of his life two sisters, Josephine S. Phillips and Penny Louise Kimbrough, both of Statesville; three aunts, Goldie (Wendell) Smith of Mocksville, Janie Smyre of Statesville with whom he made his home, Louise Imes of Statesville and Annie Ruth (Bill) Brooks of Mocksville; three uncles, RIchard Revels of Booneville, Roy Imes of Statesville and Buster Revel of Roanoke, Virginia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Sunday, September 13, 2015, at 3:30 p.m. at The Mary B. Bigham Memorial Chapel. Pastor Michael Turner will officiate and burial will follow in the Belmont Cemetery. Members of the family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m., but will assemble at the residence at other times.
