Harold Thomas

Psalm 30:5... "Weeping may endure for a moment but joy cometh in the morning" Mr. Harold Leon Thomas, beloved son of the late Samuel "Sam" Paul Thomas, Sr. and Ina Colleen Morrison Thomas, was born in Iredell County on September 14, 1960. He passed away on Monday, September 16, 2019, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, N. C. following an extended illness. He was a graduate of South Iredell High School and at an early age he attended Zion Wesley AME Zion Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Samuel "Booster" Thomas, George Blakely "Gebe" Thomas, and Mitchell Beverly Shay Thomas and two sisters, Margaret Kathleen "Pap" Thomas and Susie Thomas Morgan. He leaves to cherish the memory of his life his wife, Martha Jane Murphy Thomas of the home; his children, Jessica Ann Thomas and Mary Alice Reid, both of the home and Samuel Leon (Jessica) Thomas of Wilmington; his six grandchildren, RyAnn Jones, Malachi Thomas, Naomi Toledo, Layla Reid, and Isaiah Reid, all of the home, and Jonah Thomas of Wilmington; his siblings, William Ike (Jo Ann) Thomas of Charlotte, Steven "Keith" (Barbara) Thomas of Bradenton, Fl, Carrie "Keita" (Larry) Gabriel of Statesville, Charles (Wendy) Thomas of Sherrills Ford, Manasseh "Nasseh" Thomas and Andrew "Jim" Thomas, both of Troutman; three aunts, Emma Jean Morrison Huggins and Myrle Thomas, both of Statesville and Mildred Thomas of Winston-Salem; his mother-in-law, Sallie Whaley of Magnolia, NC; his sisters-in-law, Minnie (John) Jones of Harrells and Mary Pat Jones of El Paso, Texas; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
