Mr. John Phillip Davidson, 63, of 174 Oak Knoll Drive, Statesville, N. C., passed away at Iredell Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, April 21, 2015, following an extended illness. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 3, 1952, and was the son of the late Ffranklin lexander Davidson and WIllie Joan Stevenson Davidson. He was married to Reverend Diane Campbell Davidson, who survives. A step-son, Anthony Davidson and two brothers-in-law, Rev. James Campbell and David Lee Campbell, also preceded him in death. He was a graduate of South Iredell High School. He was a member of Zion Chapel AME Zion Church where he served on the Usher Board. He later moved his membership to Mt. Ola AME Zion Church where she served as an Usher, Trustee, and President of the Men's Booster. He leaves to cherish the memory of his life in addition to his wife, Rev. Diana C. Davidson; four sons, Marcus (Catherine) Davidson, Corey (Kimeshya) Campbell, Michael (Jessica) Davidson and Timothy (Danielle) Campbell, all of Statesville; two daughters, Kyisha Thomas and Kristey (Steven) Allison, both of Statesville; two brothers, Martie (Felicia) Davidson of New Jersey and Darryl (Tewanna) Davidson of Statesville; one sister, Lucille (James) Lewis of Statesville; a god-brother, Frederick "Freddie" Morrison of Statesville; two aunts, Mildred Shelton and Ruby Barnes, both of Statesville; an uncle, Herbert (Lorria) Mayberry of Statesville; fourteen grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
