A smile for all, a heart of gold, one of the finest this world could hold. Never selfish, always kind, these are the memories she leaves behind. Mrs. Juanita Holland Gaither, was born in Statesville, North Carolina on August 29, 1939 and was the daughter of the late Lewis Henry Holland and Elizabeth Alexander Holland. She departed this life on Wednesday, August 14, 2019, at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville following an extended illness. She attended Iredell County Schools and at one time also attended Chestnut Grove Baptist Church. Prior to her illness, she was employed by Thornet of Statesville, where she retired. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jacquelilne “Jackie” Gaither Bailey; three brothers, Francis George Holland, William Holland and Henry Lewis Holland; four sisters, Lottie Turner, Esther Holland, Mary Lois Graham, and Mary Ramseur and a sister-in-law, Maggie Holland.. She leaves to cherish the memory of her life, three daughters, Sylvia Holland Costner of Statesville, Shelby Gaither Leazer and Judy Gaither Nesbit, both of Salisbury; two sons, Gary (Patricia) Gaither and Artis (Karen) Gaither, both of Statesville; two step-children, Keith Adams and Sherrie Adams, both of Statesville; two brothers, Jimmy (Tina) Holland and Jerry (Orian) Holland, both of Statesville; three sisters, Dorothy White, Ruth Turner and Lillian Holland, all of Statesville; a brother-in-law, Rodney Ramseur, Jr.; thirteen grandchildren, Eusheka Holland, George Holland, Derryck D. Turner, Tega Kaye Turner, Gary L. (Nadia) Gaither, Ebony Millsaps, Gavin Gaither, Jarod (Ana) Gill, Kendall (Erica) Gaither, Tandra (Duran) Allison, Taleighta Gaither, Tara Gaither, LaShon Gaither and Kelvin Leonard (Candace) Nesbitt; thirty-seven great grandchildren; twenty-four great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Wednesday, August 21, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at The Chestnut Grove Baptist Church. Reverend Dale Gibson is Pastor, Reverend Tyrone Redmond will officiate and Reverend Robert Ramseur will eulogize. Mrs. Gaither will remain at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home until taken to the church to lie in state at 12:30 p.m. Members of the family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 noon until 2:00 p.m., but will assemble at the residence at other times.
