Larry James Williams, 71, of 116 Thyme Lane, Statesville passed away at his residence on Tuesday, August 20, 2019, following an extended illness. He was born in Buffalo, New York on September 16, 1947, and was the son of the late Olen Leon Williams and Mae Frances Kirkland Williams. He was married to Peggy Ann Davidson Williams, who survives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Edward Williams and Olen Leon Williams, Jr. He was a graduate of Burgard Vocational High School in Buffalo, New York and was a member of the United House of Prayer for All People where he played in the Band. He leaves to remember and celebrate his life, his wife, Peggy Ann Williams of the home; ten children, Larry Williams, Jr., and Carol Dawn Williams, both of Buffalo, New York, Orlando Williams, Angela Morton, and Monastin Williams, all of California, Delisha Lynch and Chavonie Williams, both of Buffalo, New York, Johnanthan Williams, Larrina Williams, Donovan Williams and Mary Williams, all of California; four step-children, Ernest (Pam) Davidson of Greensboro, Angela (Clyde) Parker of Harmony, Troy (Crystal) Davidson and James C. Imes, both of Statesville; a special brother, Ray Reid of California; three sisters, Patricia (Preston) Austin of Buffalo, New York, Shirley Williams of Buffalo, New York and Jackie Price of Linden, New Jersey; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends. Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Tuesday evening, August 27, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. at The United House of Prayer for All People. Elder E. A. Baptist is Pastor.. Mr. Williams will remain at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home until taken to the church to lie in state at 5:30 p.m. Members of the family will receive friends at the church from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., but will assemble at the residence at other times.
