<p>Mrs. Louise Taylor Gaines, 92, of 105 Brookmeade Drive, Statesville, departed this life on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at Gordon Hospice House. She was born in Wilcox County, on May 7, 1926, and was the daughter of the late Richard Taylor and Catherine Taylor. She was married to Eliger Gaines, who also preceded her in death. In addition to her parents, Richard Taylor and Catherine Taylor, her husband, Eliger Gaines, she was also preceded in death by a son, Marvin Gaines, and a daughter-n-law, Luella Gaines.</p><p><br></p><p>Mrs. Gaines was a graduate of American School, in Chicago, Illinois and she attended Highland Acres Church of Christ, Statesville. She was a Gold Star Mother. She was the owner of her Florist Shop in Statesville for many years. Mrs. Gaines will truly be missed.</p><p><br></p><p>She leaves to cherish the memories of her life, four sons, Robert Steve (Faye) Gaines, of Statesville, Sanford Gaines and Willie (Ann) Gaines, both of Pensacola, Florida, and Tyrone Gaines of Raleigh, N.C.; three daughters, Pamela (Raymond) Smith, of Statesville, Diana (Robert) Dukes, of Pensacola, and Kathy Gaines, of Raleigh; stepdaughter, Betty Mattox; two daughters in law, Sandra Gaines, and Barbara Allison, both of Statesville, grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.</p><p><br></p><p>Celebration of Life Services for Mrs. Louise Taylor Gaines will be conducted on Monday, March 18, 2019, at Highland Acreas Church of Christ, Statesville, at 12:00 p.m.. Brother Al Simmons will officiate. Burial will follow in the Belmont Cemetery. Members of the family will receive friends from 11:30-12:00 pm. They will assemble at the residence of Mrs. Pamela Smith, 105 Brookmeade Drive, Statesville at all other times.</p><p><br></p><p>Visit the Book of Memories for Mrs. Louise Taylor Gaines, at www.rutledgeandbigham.com.
