Mae Oglesby

Mrs. Mae Belle Moore Oglesby, beloved daughter of the late John and Louise Alexander Moore, was born in Lincoln County on September 11, 1929. She peacefully entered into eternal rest at her home, surrounded by family on Wednesday, February 4, 2015. She was married to Thara John Oglesby, who preceded her in death. She attended Unity High School and worked with Hunt Manufacturing until she became disabled. She was once a member of Shiloh AME Zion Church serving on the Mother's Board, and Holsey Memorial CME Church. At the time of her death, she was a member of Greater LIllies Chapel Church where she served on the Mother's Board. Left to Celebrate and Remember the blessing of her life are her daughter, Columbia Moore Dobbins of the home; two sons, Steve (Mary) Kimbrough and Larry (Tina) Redmond, both of Statesville; four grandchildren, Johnny Howard Dobbins, Randolph Junious Dobbins, Anthony Donnell Dobbins and Bridgette LaShelle Dobbins; nine great grandchildern, LaToya Shaunte' Camp, Randolph De'Andre Camp, Jessica Elaine Rucker, Randy Lamar Dobbins, Shiqwade Shiqwitin Dobbins, LaDazjah Shanece Dobbins, Treston Jamel Black, Keenan Idris Dobbins and Kye Donell Dobbins; five great great grandchildren, Angel De'Andre Campos, Shaniyaha LeAnn Caldwell, Ay'Naria Monyae Rucker, Zareah Imani Kelis Dobbins and Shanyaa Maria Moore; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church family, neighbors and friends. Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Sunday, February 8, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at Greater Lillies Chapel Church of the Living God. Assistant Pastor C. B. Cuthrell will officiate and Overseer B. M. Imes will eulogize with burial following in the Belmont Cemetery. Mother Oglesby will remain at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home until take to the church to lie in state at 1:00 p.m. Members of the family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 until 2:00 p.m., but will assemble at the residence at other times. Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home is serving the Oglesby Family.
