Mary Gray Obituary

Mrs. Mary Lou West Gray, 82, was born in Iredell County on January 2, 1934, and was the daughter of the late Willie Adams and Loutisha Turner. She departed this life at the Gordon Hospice House on Sunday, January 3, 2016, following an extended illness.

She attended Morningside High School and prior to her retirement she was employed by Uniglass and Clark Schwebel as a weaver. She was married to Paul Forest Gray, who preceded her in death. A brother, Johnny Turner also preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish the memory of her life her son, Paul (Hope) Gray of Statesville; a granddaughter, Shyliece Imes of Greensboro; two grandsons, Jamaal Pitts and Forrest Pitts, both of the home; and a nephew, Tony Swift, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Thursday, January 7, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at The Mary B. Bigham Memorial Chapel of Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home. Dr. John McDonald will officiate and burial will follow in the Belmont Cemetery.

Members of the family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., but will assemble at the residence of her son, Paul (Hope) Gray, 919 Sowers Street, Statesville, N. C. at other times.
