Saturday, July 23, 2011 2:00 p.m. The Life of Mr. Michael Donell Keaton “Bean” “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven” A Time To Be Born Mr. Michael Donell “Bean” Keaton was born in Statesville, North Carolina on July 20, 1974. He was the son of Deacon Larry Wayne and the late Vanessa B. Keaton. In addition to his mother, Vanessa, he was preceded in death by his sister, Evette Lachay Keaton. A Time To Grow Michael was a graduate of Statesville Senior High School Class of 1992 where he was also a member of the Beta Club. As a football player for the Statesville Greyhounds, he will always be remembered by his jersey number #77. He majored in Commercial Arts at the University of North Carolina in Greensboro, NC and was an avid freehand artist, known for his creative ability to draw. Throughout his life, he experienced many joys: seven years of marriage to the love of his life, Teayah; Aetna Bowling Team; Extreme Heat Softball Team; family gatherings; friendships; reunions; his godson, Jaylon Polite; his mother-in-law and friend Teresa; and late night conversations with his dad, Larry. A Time To Serve Michael enjoyed attending services at Christ Cathedral of Deliverance with his parents. He was employed with Iredell Memorial Hospital in the Medical Records Department before relocating to Columbia, South Carolina in 2003. In Columbia, he was employed by Providence Hospital in the Medical Records Department, and most recently he was employed by Aetna Insurance Company as a Data Analyst. A Time To Remember Michael leaves to cherish loving memories, his wife, Teayah of the home; a devoted father, Deacon Larry (Valerie) Keaton of Statesville, NC; sister, Crystal Denise Bailey of Statesville, NC; two brothers, Byron K. (Kecia) Long, Jr and Brian (Dimishi) Long, both of Statesville, NC; mother-in-law, Teresa Allison of Statesville, NC; two brothers-in-law, Timothy Allison and Anthony Renwick, both of Statesville, NC; sister-in-law, Tiffany Renwick of Statesville, NC; two nieces, Whitney Setzer and Tierra Parrott of Statesville, NC; special friends, Keith Pitchford of Fayetteville, NC and Anthony Brown of Hopkins, SC; godparents, James and Thelma Oakley of Statesville, NC; a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, church family, co-workers, neighbors and friends. A Time For Promotion Michael Donell Keaton lived a life that involved the number seven. He was born in the seventh month; his football number was seventy-seven; he was married seven years; in the CCU he was in room seven; and he passed away in the seventh month. Spiritually speaking the number seven means completion. On the fifteenth day, of the seventh month, of the year 2011 at 6:45 am, Michael’s life journey was completed; he was promoted to rest in the presence of the Lord, at The Medical University of South Carolina. Michael will be remembered for his love, his friendship, and his smile.
