Minnie Ruth Wood

<p>Pastor Minnie Ruth Brown Wood, 68, was born in Harrisburg, Pa. on April 25, 1950, and was the daughter of the late John and Velva Henrietta Frost Brown. She peacefully entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at her home in Statesville, surrounded by the love of her family.</p><p>She was a graduate of Morningside High School Class of 1969 and at one time was employed by Uniglass as a Supervisor and also RHA as Direct Support. She was a faithful and loving wife and mother who answered the call and served faithfully as a Pastor, Mother of the Church, Counselor, Sunday School Teacher and dedicated member of Whole Truth Ministries in Statesville which celebrated sixty three years of Ministerial Anniversary on last October. </p><p>She was united in marriage to Bishop Ralph D. Wood, Sr., who survives. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two step-children, Lewis Wood and Barbara Stevenson; two grandchildren, Christopher Oglesby and Aubrey Heaggans; her grandparents, Emma Hall Trusedale and Marvin Frost; a sister, Ilene Cuffy and a special aunt, Velva Green.</p><p>She enjoyed her family and the fellowship of the body of Christ, working faithfully to encourage, uplift and equip those she ministered to. She was a dedicated wife and mother and leaves behind her husband, Bishop Ralph D. Wood, Sr. of the home; seven children, Samuel (Melissa) White, III of Statesville, Tewanda (Robert) Rodriguez of Statesville, Ericka Shanell (Benjamin Glover) White of Hickory, Bradley (Tandra) White of Statesville, Eric White of Winston-Salem, Ezekiel (Crystal) Wood of Statesville and John Wood of the home; six step-children, Ralph Wood, Jr. of Statesville, Jeffrey (Ann) Wood of Salisbury, Annie Marie Wood of Statesville, Priscilla (Anthony) Henderson and Tandra Wood, both of Salisbury and Shannon (Melvin) Simpson of Statesville; one brother, Roy Green of Statesville; four sisters, Kathy Redmon of Patterson, NJ., Joyce McCall, Margaret Campbell and Dorothy Heaggans, all of Statesville; two brothers-in-law, Mason Wood and Nathan (Sandy) Wood, both of Statesville; one sister-in-law, Beverly Wood of Rochester, NY; a goddaughter, Ruby Stevenson of Statesville; a host of nephews and nieces including Charles Williams, Randolph Williams and Vera Ann Williams, all of Harrisburg, Pa.; grandchildren, Candace (Jeremiah) Heaggans, Simona (Dalante Clyburn) Rodriguez, Samantha (Anthony Reid) Rodriguez, Myia Rodriguez, Kyndal Wood, Kayla White, Seth Wood, Bryson Benfield, Kalin White, Richard Carson, Shakaria Carson, Shari Wood, Danielle Wood, Nastajia Williams, Joshua Wood, Jeffifer Wood, Teresa Wood, Shanika Imes, Jashin Whisonanat, Kendric (Ebony) Boller, Lamont Summers, Tykilius Whisonanat, Demario Whisonanat, Davanna Wood, Antione Wood, Dontae Wood, Tomea Jones, Whitney Stevenson, Darnell Stevenson, Colton Wood, Chishera Wood, Crystal Wood and DiChris Wood; special friends and caregivers, Cymeka Mauney, Gloria “Jean” Stevenson, Dean Tucker, Marilyn Ballard, Pastor Sharon Jackson and Sharon Alexander; and a host of great grandchildren including Jamiah Heaggans, Jeremiah Heaggans, Jr., Makiah Heaggans, Steven O’Neal Allison and Ajhia Reid, cousins, neighbors, the entire household of faith, other relatives and friends.</p><p>Servant of God, well done! Pastor Surtonia Burton will officiate and Brother John Wood will eulogize. Pastor Wood will remain at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home, until taken to the church to lie in state at 12:00 noon.
