Mrs. Nettie Lou Jones Stokes 77, of 355 Windchester Road, Troutman, was born in Cabarrus County, on October 7, 1940, and was the daughter of the late Love C. Jones and Beatrice Blackwell. She was married to the late Ned Stokes. She departed this life on Monday July, 23, 2018, at Iredell Memorial Hospital, Statesville, N.C.. Prior to her death she worked as a healthcare aid for Sumaritan Home Health Care Systems. Nettie was a member of Mt. Calvary Apostolic Holiness Church, where she was the “ Mother of the Church”. She will truly be missed. In addition to her late father, Love C. Jones, Nettie was preceded in death by five brothers, Love Calvin Jones, Jr., Johnny C. Jones, Johnny Lee Jones, Grady Lee Jones, Calvin Jones, and two infant children. Nettie leaves to cherish the memory the memory of her life, two daughters, Viola (James) Johnson, and Daisy Stokes, both of Statesville; two brothers, Melvin Jones, Statesville, and John Jones of Baltimore, Md.; one sister, Janice Jones, of Statesville; five grandchildren, Avery Stokes, Edward Stokes, Grady Stokes, James Stokes, and Asia Stokes; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church family, neighbors, and friends. Celebration of Life Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Mt. Calvary Apostolic Holiness Church, Statesville, N.C.. Dr. Randy Minor will officiate, and burial will follow in the Belmont Cemetery. Members of the family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., but will assemble at the residence at all other times.
