Remembering and Celebrating the Life of Mr. Ollie Rufus Kimbrough Mr. Ollie Rufus Kimbrough, Jr., son of the late Ollie Rufus Kimbrough, Sr. and the late Elizabeth Hall Kimbrough Jackson, was born in Iredell County on August 15, 1957. He departed this life on Sunday, June 16, 2019, at his home following a brief illness. Ollie graduated from South Iredell High School in 1975, and attended Shiloh AME Zion Church. He was very humorous and was everyone’s favorite uncle. He liked to play the drums and was the life of the party. He loved sports and played baseball and basketball in several city leagues. Ollie will truly be missed. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his oldest sister, Elizabeth Kimbrough Rucker and his stepfather, Dave Jackson. He leaves to cherish the memory of his life, his wife, Kimberly Kimbrough of Kannapolis; two daughters, Keyara LaShay Kimbrough and Tenara Lafaye Kimbrough, both of the home; three step-children, Derrick (Danielle) Ward of Statesville, Carrie (Keya) Ward of Mooresville and Coby Caldwell of Kannapolis; four grandchildren, Tevin D. Seymore, Keyannah S. Graham, Keandre J. William and Maleah R. Kimbrough, all of the home; six sisters, Helen (Jerry) Gibbs, Connie Daye, Clara (Ervin) Sigmon, Shirley (Jerry) Hayden, Delora (Henry) Steele and Louisa (Frankie) Miller; two brothers, William (Sandra) Kimbrough and Samuel (Bonita) Kimbrough; step-brothers, Nathaniel (Barbara) Jackson, Thomas (Patricia) Jackson and Johnny (Sherry) Mathis; a step-sister, Betty Campbell; an aunt, Edna Hall; an uncle, Walter (Francis) Jackson; a host of cousins, other relatives, church family and friends. We will always remember you!!! A celebration of life will be conducted on Saturday, June 22, 2018, at Shiloh AME Zion Church with Reverend J. Ruth Davis, officiating, Reverend James Shade, eulogy. Members of the family will receive friends from 12-1:00 p.m., at the church, and burial will follow in the Belmont Cemetery, Statesville.
