Ever close in heart and minds are the ones we hold most dear.
Mr. Otis John Alexander, 59, of 191 Oak Knoll Drive, Statesville, departed this life on November 21, 2015, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, following an accident. He was born in Iredell County on November 8, 1956, and was the son of Mother Geneva Brown Chambers Blackwell. He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Otis Thomas Chambers and Lucy Beatrice Alexander.
He attended the Iredell Statesville School System and was a Construction Worker.
He leaves to cherish the memory of his life, his mother, by whom he was raised, Geneva Brown Chambers Blackwell of Statesville; four sisters, Anissa Chambers of Statesville, Tandra (Timothy) Hargers of Texas, Alisa (Charles) Kimbrough of Statesville and Mary Alexander of Statesville; four brothers, John (Vivian) Alexander of Florida, Thomas (Freda) Chambers of Harmony, Shannon (Treva) Byers of Statesville and Marcus (Angie) Byers of Statesville; two god brothers, Leroy Hairston of Statesville and James Hairston of Wilkesboro; two god sisters, Cora Cauthen of Burlington and Ozell Turner of South Carolina; a special nephew, Anthony (Patrice) Chambers of Milwaukee, WI; two special nieces, Tonisha (Johnathan) Daniels and Lesley (Jermaine) Spears, both of Statesville; eleven uncles, James (Faye) Carr, James (Tracy) Tate, Felton Brown, Pastor Donald A. Brown, David Brown, all of Statesville, Mackie Brown of New York, Samuel Brown of South Carolina, Dennis (Sandra) Brown of Charlotte, Robert Alexander of Salisbury, John (Cookie) Carr of Kannapolis and Joe Alexander of Charlotte; six aunts, Betty (Joe) Barnes, and Missionary Vera Flowers, both of Statesville, Carnell (Lawson) Garrison and Grace Dean Tate, both of Salisbury, Mary N. Tate of Troutman and Pearl Carr of Salisbury; and a host of cousins, other relatives and dear friends.
It breaks our hearts to lose you,
but you did not go alone
For part of us went with you,
the day God called you home.
