Mr. Rickey William Alexander, son of the late Oscar and Carrie Rosby Alexander, was born in Iredell County on July 12, 1957. He passed away, Saturday, August 5, 2017, unexpectedly. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Lee Alexander; and a sister, Shirley Ann Alexander. He was formerly married to Barbara Woods Alexander, who survives.

After graduating from North Iredell High School, Rickey served in the US Army. For many years he attended Chestnut Grove Baptist Church and later attended St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church.

He leaves to cherish the memories of his life, one daughter, Tangela Daniels of Statesville; one sister, Diana (John Irby) Alexander of Harmony; one sister-in-law, Barbara Alexander of Statesville; one granddaughter, McKenzie Leigh Ann Robbins of Statesville, NC; two nephews, DeShawn (Mai) Alexander of Statesville, NC and Clifton Wellman of Gautier, MS; four nieces, Crystal (Richard) Turner of Jacksonville, NC, Regenia (Kevin) McCall of Glen Allen, VA, Ronika (Wayne) Alexander-Ortman, Atlanta, GA, and Kara Irby of Harmony, NC; and a host of great nephew, great nieces, cousins and friends.
