Mr. Roger James Butler, Jr., 46, of 1044 Perth Road, Troutman, passed away at Carolinas Medical Center on November 23, 2015, unexpectedly. He was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on August 30, 1969, and was the son of Melody Smith Butler and the late Roger James Butler.
In addition to his mother, Melody, he is survived by one son, James Dean Warren of Alexis, N.C.; one sister, Brenda Lee (Jimmy David) Griffin of Troutman; one aunt, Mary Joy (David) Appleby of Wilkesboro; two nieces, Emily Griffin and Krystin Griffin, both of Troutman; Richard Cash of Troutman; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Pure White Feather

We have asked an angel up in heaven in our special prayer
To protect you while you're sleeping and tend to with the greatest of care
For we know right now we cannot be with you there.

For we felt such pain and heart break when you left us far behind.
And all through the coming years, you will be always on our minds;
the precious memories you left us we will never leave behind.

And even though our tears will keep falling, peace will soon be found
When we see a pure white feather, falling to the ground
We will know it is you sending us your love without making a sound

Because we all know for sure your sign from heaven above
That the angel wings surround you with their eternal love
Each and every time we see a pure white feather
falling near us from heaven above.
