Ronald Eugene Cowan

Ronald Eugene Cowan, 66, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, passed away at George Washington University Hospital, Washington, D. C. on Friday, October 23, 2015, following an extended illness. He was born in Iredell County on April 22, 1949, and was the son of the late Estelle Cowan Dobbins and Morris Cooper. He was also preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary E. Cowan.<br/>He was a graduate of Morningside High School and made his home in Virginia for a number of years. He served with the United States Army and was honorably discharged.<br/>He leaves to cherish the memory of his life his son, Terrence Peet (Daniela) of Fredericksburg, Va.; daughter, Brandi Turner of Statesville, NC; 9 grandchildren; three brothers, Curtis (Lisa) Kimbrough of Jefferson, N. C., Alvin Dobbins of Orlando, Florida and Gary (Lynn) Dobbins of Statesville; four sisters, Marsherry Kimbrough of Statesville, Teresa Smith of Inglewood, California, Nita (Arnold) Feimster and Crystal Pressly, both of Statesville; one aunt, Lillian (Wiley) Patterson of Statesville; a host of cousins including, Robert Patterson of Orlando, Florida, Laverne (Price) Hamilton of Georgia, Patricia (Joe) Mauney, WIley (Louise) Patterson, Jeanie Patterson, Essie McNeil, Roberta (Paul) Foust, and a host of other relatives, classmates, and friends.<br/>
