Homegoing Services for Mr. Roscoe Scott<br><br>Mr. Roscoe Scott departed his earthly life after a short illness on Friday, September 18, 2020. He was born on February 16, 1942 in Iredell County, Troutman, North Carolina. He was 78 years old. He was the son of the late James Scott and Mary Lee Moore Scott of Troutman, North Carolina.<br>He was a 1961 graduate from Unity High School in Statesville, North Carolina. Following his graduation, he was drafted into the army and served in the Vietnam Conflict. He was honorably discharged. He was last employed by Blanton and Moore in Troutman, North Carolina before he retired. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Willie James Scott.<br>He was a member of St. James Baptist Church in Mooresville, North Carolina. Roscoe loved raising a garden and giving it to all of his friends and neighbors. He loved making crafts and other things and he loved flowers and decorating his home at Christmas time. <br>He leaves to cherish the memory of his life a loving daughter, Maudie Elizabeth Scott of Statesville, North Carolina; a brother, Lester Glenn (Martha Jones Scott) Scott of Salisbury, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Tristan Scott, J. Justin Davidson, James White and Zinnie J. White, Jr.; six great grandchildren, Tyiana Cowan, Alayzhia Cowan, Trinity Scott, Tazia Smith, Keona Davidson and Denayah James; a stepson, William Ray Clarke; two special cousins, Mary Lois Walker and Marie Cowan; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great neighbors, church family, other relatives and dear friends.<br><br><br>Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Thursday, October 1, 2020, at 3:00 p.m. at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home. Reverend J. C. Byers will officiate and Bishop Joe T. Byers will eulogize. <br><br>Burial will follow in the National Cemetery in Salisbury, N. C. on Friday, October 2, 2020, at 9:00 a.m.
