Thomas McKoy

Looking for a city, where we'll never die, There the sainted millions, never say good-bye, There we'll meet our Savior, and our loved ones too, Come O Holy Spirit, all our hopes renew. Mr. Thomas Eugene McKoy, was born in Jamaica Queens, New York on February 5, 1963. He was the son of the late Eugene and Carol Nickolas McKoy. He departed this life on Saturday, July 20, 2019, at his home following an extended illness. He was a high school graduate and served with the United states Army and was honorably discharged. He was a member of the Providence Church in Kernersville and was baptized and attended The Cove. He was united in marriage to Cherie Campbell McKoy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Thomas “T.J.” McKoy. He leaves to cherish the memory of his life, his wife, Cherie Campbell McKoy of the home; one daughter, Gladys Daye of Statesville; two step-daughters, Chemetra Dalton of Winston-Salem and Chanelle Dalton of Statesville; two brothers, Michael McKoy and Gene McKoy, both of Elizabeth City, NC; one sister, Shontice McKoy of Elizabeth City; his mother-in-law, Naomi Davis of Harmony; grandchildren, Faithful Chambers, Darnajah Robinson, Kerrige Ravzell, Kemarra Ravenell, DeAnthony McKoy, Nya McKoy, Billy Dalton, Iviona Dalton, and Kaliyah Dalton; step-grandchildren, Chamarion Murphy, Chedavion Dalton, Chiyanna Dalton, Chajavion Dalton, Chylasia Dalton and Robert Hunter, Jr.; and a host of other relatives and friends. Day is done, gone the sun, From the lake, from the hills, from the sky; All is well, safely rest, God is nigh. Celebration of Life Services were held Monday, July 29, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at The Cove in Statesville. Members of the family received friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Burial followed in the National Cemetery in Salisbury, N. C. at 2:00 p.m. with full Military Rites.
