Ms. Valarie Denise Dunlap Radford, 57, of 921 2nd Street, SW, Hickory, NC, was born in Iredell County on November 12, 1962, and was the daughter of Pauline Dunlap Byers and the late William David Nixon. She passed away at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville on Friday, June 7, 2019, following an extended illness. She was a graduate of West Iredell High School and was baptized at St. Joseph Baptist Church. In addition to her mother, Pauline Byers, she is leaves to cherish the memory of her life, one brother, Jeffrey Turner of Statesville; six sisters, Cheria Tuner, Dadra Turner, Vickie (James) Watts, Gretchen Parker and Ricki Knox, all of Statesville and Janine Peet of Woodbridge, Virginia; one aunt, Annie “Poochie” Davidson of Statesville; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at 3:30 p.m. at The Mary B. Bigham Memorial Chapel of Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home. Reverend Darrick Clemmons will officiate. Members of the family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m., but will assemble at the residence of her sister, Gretchen Parker, 2878 Salisbury Highway, Statesville, N.
