Mrs. Winiferd Gail Simpson Redmon, affectionately known as “Wendy”, 56, of 110 Eaves Lane, Statesville, departed this life on Sunday, December 31, 2017, at Iredell Memorial Hospital. She was born in Iredell County on March 17, 1961, and was the daughter of the late Lewis and Viola Jones Simpson. She was married to Gordon Keith Redmon, who survives. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Clinton Simpson and three sisters, Rachel Chambers, Patricia Hardin and Karen Foster.

Mrs. Redmon was educated in the Iredell County School System and received a CNA certificatie at the Mitchell Community College. She worked as a Private Duty CNA.

Survivors include her husband, Gordon Keith Redmon; two sons, Bryan Keith Simpson and Anthony L. (Misty) Redmon, both of Statesville; a daughter, Tanya Michelle Redmon of Statesville; three brothers, James (Kathey) Simpson of Cleveland, Thomas (Brenda) Simpson of Statesville and Freddie Simpson of Greensboro; two sisters, Valencia Simpson of Salisbury, and Sarah Warren of Statesville; a brother-in-law, Dennis (Vanessa) Redmon of Mocksville ; a sister-in-law, Kathy Redmon of Patterson, NJ; a grandchild, Kissiah Damara Redmon of Statesville; nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.

Celebration of Life Services for Mrs. Winiferd Redmon, will be conducted Friday, January 5, 2018, at 2:00 PM at The Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home Statesville. Bishop Ralph Woods will officiate. Burial follow in the Belmont Cemetery. Members of the family will receive friends from 1:00 -2:00 pm. They will assemble at the residence of at other times.
