Karen Sue Royer Obituary

Karen Royer, 57, passed away on Friday, October 16, after a long illness. She dedicated her life to serving the Lord as a teacher with the Diocese of Los Angeles. She was a proud graduate of The Ohio State University and was a huge Buckeye fan. She loved to travel and had visited all 50 states and much of Europe. Though she spent the majority of her adult life in California, her heart was in Ohio. Karen will be missed by her twin, Sharen, brothers Jeff and David, niece Stephanie Frazier, nephews Stewart & Andrew Frazier and Ian and Clay Shepherdson, sister in-law Sandi Royer, brothers in law John Shepardson and Jeff Frazier, and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her sister Cathy and parents Gerry and Sara (Billie) Royer. Friends may call Friday 5-8PM at the Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home, 811 Grant St. in Akron. The funeral service will be 1PM Saturday at Manchester United Methodist Church, 5625 Manchester Rd. Karen will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Memorial Park next to her parents. Karen requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in her memory.
