Rhonda Mowry

ASHLAND – Rhonda M. Mowry, 51, passed away Tuesday, October 10th, 2017 at Kingston of Ashland after a long, hard-fought battle with Melanoma. She was born January 11th, 1966 as one of eight children. Originally from the Cleveland area, she moved to Ashland County in 1979 and graduated from Black River High School in 1984. Shortly after graduation, she began her career working for Samaritan Regional Health Center (now University Hospitals Samaritan Medical Center), where she spent 29 years working in various departments such as the Pharmacy and Emergency Room. Most notably, Rhonda worked in the Health Information Management (HIM) Coding Department since 2011 and proudly acquired her COC and CEDC certifications. In her personal life, Rhonda married Steven M. Mowry on October 20th, 1990 and had two sons (Steven and Daniel). Her husband, Steve, owns and operates Mowry Builders Ltd. (a local general construction company). Both of her boys are pursuing careers in business – Daniel is currently attending Ashland University, and Steven has graduated from Ashland University and The Ohio State University. Some of Rhonda’s favorite hobbies included tending to her garden and making jewelry. Also, in her free time, she enjoyed her role as a Silpada Jewelry Representative. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 21st, 2017 at Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home (313 Center St., Ashland, OH 44805).
