Obituary
A loving and accepting fighter, David "Dave" Kent Morris, age 74, of Huber Heights, passed away Wednesday, June 17th, 2020 at his home.
He was born April 20th, 1946 to Bertha and William Morris. David learned to endure hardship during his early years. It taught him compassion and gave him a desire to help. He also learned to be a fighter. He didn't win all, or even most of the time, but he didn't back down. David was a natural storyteller, and like all good storytellers, he never let the truth get in the way of a great story. He loved to cook. His vegetable soup was legendary. He was good at tennis, loved to sail, and even raced motorcycles for a short period. Dave absolutely loved to be around people.
In the late 1980's he worked as a seller for Ricoh. They were at the cutting edge of barcoding and security measures, and those six years of tremendous professional success were a real sense of accomplishment for him. David was 16 years sober. He was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous, and the opportunity to share his struggle with alcoholism gave him a social and spiritual victory. However, his real victories were his son and his grandsons, and his greatest passion was loving them.
David is survived by his son Zachary Morris, Zachary's wife Ellen, their sons, Sebastian and Jonathan Morris, and David's sister Sandy Archer.
To help the family celebrate his life, you are invited to share during a life celebration memorial service on
