Jane Elizabeth Waltz Obituary

A caring and empathetic listener, Jane E. Waltz, 80, of Bellbrook, passed away Thursday July 9, 2020 at Kettering Medical Center. She was born April 9th, 1940 in Buchannan, Michigan to Virginia (Britton) and Floyd Whitesel. Before retiring in 2009 from Irongate Realtors, she worked as a realtor for 30 years. Jane was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles "Chuck" Waltz, and daughter Cheryl Waltz. Jane is survived by her daughter Tracy Waltz Truett (Mike Hecht), son-in-law Jeffrey Truett (Marlies Wightman Thomas), and step-son Dale Waltz; grandchildren Charlee Hatch, Casey Truett, Zachary Truett, Jamee Hatch (Zachary Borton), and Ashley Waltz Rupp; great-grandchildren Kylee Steinman, Emree Borton, and Lily Galt; sister Leigh Osborn, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Jane loved riding horses, especially "Ginger," who she rode to school as a young girl. She loved spending the winter in Florida, taking walks on Nokomis Beach and Casey Key Beach and getting together with her friends to play cards, especially gin. She enjoyed going to garage sales, canning vegetables and jams, and taking immaculate care of the flowers in her garden and even more importantly, all the people she loved. Jane was a phenomenal cook, and was very devoted to sharing that gift with those at church. She volunteered with both Spring Valley United Methodist Church and Bellbrook United Methodist Church, especially during the Potato Festival and Sugar Maple Festival. She was also active in the Bellbrook Garden Club, was a 4-H leader, volunteer in Families of Addicts, and involved in Al-Anon. Join us for a Life Celebration Memorial Service Experience on Wednesday July 15th at 6:00pm at Conner & Koch Life Celebration Home, 92 W. Franklin St., Bellbrook (937-848-6651). Randy Snyder will officiate. In memory of Jane, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, Families of Addicts, and Pink Ribbon Girls.
