Richard "Rick" Keith Morgan Obituary

A funny, kind, and generous man, Richard "Rick" Keith Morgan Jr., age 70, of Dayton, passed away on Thursday, October 17th, 2019. He was born May 12th, 1949 to Richard Morgan Sr. and Ruby Morgan. Rick graduated from Meadowdale High School before serving with the US Army during the Vietnam War. Following the war, Rick was employed as a Machine Operator for Duriron for 30 years. He married, Jayne Ann Klopfer on May 21, 1980, while wearing his trademark overalls. Together, they grew to a family of four and built a beautiful life. Rick absolutely loved gadgets. He was intrigued by any new technology that made life easier; from an automatic dog food dispenser to a propelling pool float, he enjoyed trying out all sorts of new inventions. He spent every fall weekend watching both The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Bengals, and was a loyal fan no matter what. When it wasn't football season, he spent time enjoying his backyard pool with the kids, or taking them fishing but making them bait his hooks. He also loved Bob Dylan, especially "Forever Young" and "Brownsville Girl." Rick loved music, his dogs, and his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Morgan Sr. and Helen Heberling, brother Dennis Morgan, and his grandparents. Rick will be dearly missed by his wife of nearly 40 years, Jayne Morgan, son Richard "Ricky" Morgan III (Tracy), daughter Nicole "Niki" Barton (Chad), grandchildren Zack, Maura, and Brayden Morgan, Logan, Maxtyn, and Nash Barton, and his beloved black lab, Gracie. To help the family celebrate his life, please wear your favorite Bengal attire, Bob Dylan T-shirt, or whatever you are comfortable in to share stories and laughter during a Life Celebration Visitation at Conner and Koch Life Celebration Home (92 W. Franklin St., Bellbrook) on Wednesday, October 23, from 5 pm to 8 pm. Private burial will take place at Bellbrook Cemetery (3939 Upper Bellbrook Rd. Bellbrook, OH) on Thursday, October 24, at 10 am. In loving memory of Rick, the family requests donations to Greenpeace (702 H Street, NW, STE 300, Washington, D.C. 20001) and The Humane Society (1255 23rd Street, NW, Suite 450 Washington, DC 20037).
