MARGIE TALLEY

On Friday, August 20th, 2010 the earthly pilgrimage of Margie Lee Talley came to a peaceful end, but her sweet memories will live on forever. Born July 6th, 1938 in Conway, South Carolina to the late Joseph and Maude DeWitt. Margie was the fourth child of ten children. She graduated from South Carolina's Public School System. Margie's family left South Carolina and moved to Brooklyn, New York. This is where she met her husband, Elvren Talley, Sr. They were married September 4th, 1955, and out of this union were born two children, Debra Sabrina and Elvren Talley, Jr. Margie excepted the Lord over 50 years ago in Brooklyn, New York. She late moved to Cleveland, Ohio with her husband and children. While living in Cleveland, Margie attended Union Street Church of God under the late Bernard Claytor. In 1972, she moved to Columbus, Ohio and was under the leadership of her sister-in-law the late Pastor Bertha Clark. After many years under her sister-in-law, God called her husband to pastoral ministries. This is where you would find her doing her duties as a servant. Margie is preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Maude DeWitt, and her brother, Ernest DeWitt. Margie a child of God will be solely missed by all that were priviledged to know her. She leaves to celebrate her home going, her husband, Elvren Talley, Sr.; daughters, Debra (Karl) Foggie and Bettye (Reggie) Wells; son, Elvren, Jr. (Swayzene) Talley all from Columbus,Ohio; Ten Grand Children, Nineteen Great Grand Children and Two God Daughters, Sabrina Russell-Brown and Devonne Trudo of Columbus, Ohio; sisters, Alma Wright, Phennie Wyatt, Annie M. Wise, Lettie (Steve) Cromity, Eula DeWitt all of New York and Geraldine Johnson of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; brothers James M. Dewitt of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Stafford (Diane) of Baltimore, Maryland and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Everyone Margie met was special to her. Funeral service Saturday 11am First Church of God, 3480 Refugee Rd, where the family will receive friends 10am until the time of service.
