ROMERO (Gutierrez) Carlos Alberto, age 85 of Dayton, passed away Monday, September 21, 2020. Carlos was born May 28, 1935 in Panama. He is a retired Master Sergeant from the U.S. Army. Carlos was a loving father and husband. Upon his military retirement, he dedicated the rest of his working life serving the community. He was Executive Director of the city's Hispanic Center, and eventually retired as the Human Resources Manager for the Montgomery County Community Action Agency. At one time, he was President of the Dayton View Little League (Association). He also volunteered at Dayton Catholic School to lead their Book Fair for many years. His unrelenting commitment to his faith and St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Dayton, was well known among the faith-based community. He was an ardent jazz music and gadget lover. He was loved by the community, and lent a helping hand to anyone who had a need. Carlos was loved by the community. He is survived by his wife Clarisa Romero, 2 daughters Lilia G. Romero and her husband David Smith, Amanda M. Romero and her husband Pierre Collins, 1 son Carlos A. A. (Jennifer) Romero, 3 grandchildren Jordan, Julian and Peyton, 2 great grandchildren Giselle, and Hendrix, and several brothers and sisters in the U.S. and Panama. Private services.
