Michele (Shelly) McKinniss (Roberts) died peacefully at Hospice of Dayton on Sunday October 13, 2019 in Dayton,Ohio at the age of 50. Shelly is survived by her Son Harold and wife Britni McKinniss (Riverside); Grandchildren Daisy and Colton (Riverside); Sister Hazel (Gary) Watkins (Riverside); niece Pamela Watkins (Riverside); nephew Jason (Shannon) Watkins; great nephew Randy Watkins and numerous cousins and aunts/uncles. She is preceded in death by her Mother Clara (Chappell) Roberts, Father Jack Roberts, Brother-In-Law David McKinniss and her 7 Babies she never got to hold during her time on Earth. Shelly was born on March 15, 1969 in Campbell, KY to Clara and Jack Roberts. She graduated from Walter E. Stebbins High School in 1987. She was blessed to have her only child Harold (III) and Shelly set about being a stay at home mother for him. She instilled a great passion for being creative, kind, thoughtful and loving in him. Harold remembers a mother who always found the good in people and who encouraged him to always pursue his goals. His aspirations helped lead her to join the work force after raising him to pursue a career in customer service. Shelly was accomplished at baking and anyone who knew her, knew her famous cheesecakes. She was a loyal, loving, dedicated and feisty individual who loved her friends and family and who was passionate about gardening, the revival of the Bald Eagles in the area and teaching her grandbabies the wonder and beauty of nature, especially butterflies. A memorial is scheduled for 12:00pm on October 26, 2019 at Way of the Cross Church 612 Beatrice Dr. Riverside OH, 45431 with a reception to follow. Brother Bill Laudermilk will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Shelly’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Five Rivers MetroParks, making the Gift Designation to the Butterfly House at Cox Arbortetum via https://www.metroparks.org/make-a-difference/gifts/donate/online-contribution-form/. Please feel free to leave condolences on the Memory Wall. The family would like to thank all her friends and family for their continued prayers throughout Shelly’s illness. Knowing just how much she was loved in this life was truly a comfort during the past few months.
