Dr. Robert M. Curran passed away suddenly January 4, 2012 at Lake West Medical Center in Willoughby, Ohio. He was born April 15, 1929 in Cleveland, Ohio the late Dr. Paul S. and Genevieve (Morgan) Curran. Dr. Curran was a physician in Mentor, Ohio and also served as Medical Director for the Lake County General Health District, a position he held since 1980. He also served as the physician for the Tuberculosis Clinic with the Health Department and in 2010 was awarded the Ohio Charles B. Payne Memorial Award for his work. Dr. Curran was a member of the East Side Irish American Club and enjoyed reading and studying medicine. He was truly devoted to his work. He is survived by his children, Paul Curran, Peter (Doreen) Curran, Rob Curran, Andrew Curran, daughters Anne Curran, Maura Curran, Meghan (Richard) Hickman, Ellen Curran, Hope (Brian) Proctor and Christine Curran. He also leaves his grandchildren Grace, Benjamin and Oliver Proctor as well as his sisters Genevieve Curran and Lenore (Charles) Richards and brothers Dr. James (Eleanor) Curran, Joseph (Janine) Curran and the Honorable Thomas (Jeanne) Curran. Dr Curran was preceded in death by his parents as well as his wife Kathleen, daughter Patricia, brothers Paul Curran, Jr. and Dr. John Curran and sister Mary Alice Curran. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Avenue (opposite Lake Erie College), Painesville. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church, 242 N. State Street, Painesville, Ohio. Interment will follow in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon. Rev.
