Ann M.
Ann M. Murnen, 82, of Toledo, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2016, at her home. She was born August 7, 1933, in Toledo and was the daughter of John and Sylvia Gerber. Ann was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy and a member of the Alumnae. She was a Registered Nurse following graduation from Mercy School of Nursing and worked as a nurse for 16 years at Howard Pediatrics. She was an active, long time member of Christ the King Church, including serving on the funeral committee. Ann also volunteered at Mercy St. Anne Hospital. Ann was an avid walker. She particularly enjoyed the trails at Wildwood Metro Park. Ann remained close with friends from high school and nursing school throughout her life. She was also an honorary member of the CCHS Class of 1947.

Ann’s deep love for her family will always be remembered by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Stephen (Tina) Murnen, Sharon (Matt) Heinrichs, Patricia Murnen, Kathleen Strick, Robert Murnen, Kevin (Andrea) Murnen and Christopher (Michell) Murnen; 18 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and siblings, Cecilia Gerber, James (Jean) Gerber and Bernadette (Bernie) Scott. Ann was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 55 years, Richard and brother, Rev. John Gerber.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 20, from 3-8 p.m., in the Ansberg-West Funeral Home 3000 Sylvania Avenue, (between Secor and Douglas Roads). The funeral mass will take place at 11 a.m., June 21, at Christ the King Church, 4100 Harvest Lane. Interment will be private at a later date.
