Charles M. Ganzert, 68, of Lambertville MI, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at his home. He was born October 23, 1949, in Toledo and was the son of Charles and Anna Ganzert. Charles worked at Toledo Painters Supply for 9 years. He then worked for RMF, a division of Phillips Services, where he worked for 8 years before going on disability with Multiple System Atrophy.
Chuck was a longtime member of the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, where he served as a Eucharist Minister and was a member of the Teamster Union, Local #20. Chuck was also a member of the NHRA. He built his own race car (’79 Camero) and raced at Milan Raceway, in Michigan. Chuck also cared for injured animals brought to him from the neighborhood kids.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Caren Ganzert; daughters, Angela Wallace and Elizabeth (Jeremy) Marks; grandchildren, Lauren Wallace, Madison Wallace, Zachary Marks and Charlotte Marks. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Carole Tellam.
Friends are invited to visit on Thursday, from 2-8 p.m., in the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Avenue, (between Secor and Douglas Roads). The funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10:30 a.m., at the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 2240 Castlewood Drive, (at Bellevue Road).
