Obituary for Charles Edward Morgan

Charles Edward Morgan, 92, passed quietly on January 16, 2014 at Swan Creek Retirement Village. Charles was born in Toledo, Ohio and graduated from Scott High School in 1939 and served in the Navy Seabees during World War II. In 1944 Charles married Betty whom he met at the local skating rink and they raised two sons, William “Bill” and James. Tragically bill died in 1970 at the age of 20 in an auto accident. James went on to graduate from the University of Toledo Law School and is currently a practicing attorney. Charles worked for Bentley & Sons General Contractor Company retiring after 41 years. The couple were inseparable after Charles' retirement and travelled the country in an RV before decing to split their time between Beverly Hills, Florida and the cottage Charles built with his sons at Marble Lake in Coldwater, MI . Charles was a proud member of the Shriner's and Masonic organizations. Charles is survived by his son, James of Toledo and grandchildren, Craig and Rebecca. His humorous outlook on life will be missed by all who loved him. Services will be held 10:00am Monday January 20, 2014 at Ansberg-West Funeral Home 3000 Sylvania Avenue, where friends are invited to visit from 2:00pm to 6:00pm Sunday January 19, 2014 Interment in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
