Edward J. Kozlowski, 91, of Toledo, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2011, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. He was born May 20, 1920, in Toledo and was the son of Harry and Mary Kozlowski. Ed served honorably in the Army Air Corp during WW II. He married Dorothy Brantmyler on September 16, 1943. He worked in construction for the Henry J. Spieker Company for 30 years and then worked for the City of Toledo in the Water Department, for 7 years, before retiring. He was a lifetime member of St. Adalbert Church, Catholic War Veterans, Jude-Thaddeus Post 1675, the Buddy Frankowski, VFW Post and T.A.P.S. Survivors include his son, David (Linda Gosik) Kozlowski; daughters, Kathleen (Kent) Snyder and Cynthia (Phillip) Perry; grandchildren, Rachel (Douglas) Martin and Geoffrey (Sarah) Snyder and great-grandson, Andrew Martin. Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Kozlowski; brother, Theodore Kozlowski and sister, Jean Asman. Friends are invited to visit from 2-6 p.m. , Sunday, in the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Avenue, where the Catholic War Vets Post 1675, will conduct a prayer service at 5 p.m. Prayers will begin at 10:15 a.m. Monday, from the funeral home followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., in St Adalbert Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, where the Lucas County Veterans Burial Corp will conduct services. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Adalbert Church or Odyssey Hospice. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center and Odyssey Hospice, for the wonderful care given to Edward.
