Eugeness G. “Jean” Lichon, 88, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 28, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 1, 1922, in Toledo and was the daughter of Frank and Beatrice Zientek. Jean danced for the “Gardner Girls” for many years, where she traveled extensively. She enjoyed reading, spending time with her grandchildren and singing. She also bowled in the women's league for the Polish Falcons. Jean began her working career at LaSalle's Department Store and worked for many years at J.C. Penney's, where she retired. She was a longtime member of St. Pius X Church. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Eddie Lichon; daughters, Kathy (Bucky) Casto and Vicki (John) Brown; grandchildren, John Brown, Melissa Brown, Eddie Casto and Adam Casto. Jean was preceded in death by her son, Kenny Lichon. Friends are invited to visit from 2-8 p.m. Monday, in the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Avenue. Prayers will begin at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday from the funeral home, followed by the funeral Mass at 10 a.m., in St. Pius X Parish. Father Thomas J. Landgraff OSFS will officiate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to ProMedica Hospice.
