Obituary for George Apostolos Andros

George Apostolos Andros, 89, passed away Friday at the Franciscan Center. He was born in Toledo to Charles and Katherine (Katramadou) Andros. He honorably served in the U.S. Army during WW II, stationed in California. In 1950 he graduated from University of Toledo School of Pharmacy. From 1954 until 1971 he owned Andros Drug Store at the corner of Huron and Lagrange. After that he owned Fallen Timbers Apothecary for a time before working for Orchard Drugs and Churchill's Pharmacy. George was a life long member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral where he served on the Parish Council and was a member of AHEPA. Surviving is his wife of 64 years, Marie and daughter Kathy Andros. Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 740 Superior Street. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 PM Monday at the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Avenue where Trisagian prayers will begin at 7:00 PM. Any tributes may be made in the form of contributions to the church.
