Obituary for Harriette R Kapelski

Harriette R. Kapelski, 96, loving mother, grandmother and friend to so many was called home to God on March 14, 2009 at the Ebeid Hospice Residence. She was born October 5, 1912 to Frank and Josephine Kusz in Toledo. On November 30, 1932 Harriette married John James Kapelski. Throughout their many years of marriage they enjoyed spending time with numerous friends. A devout catholic, Harriette had a deep faith in God which she shared through her kind and loving words and actions. Her faith gave her the strength to face many challenges and she was always grateful for her many blessings. Her presence and caring heart could put a smile on anyone's face. Her favorite times were spent cooking, baking, embroidering, and spoiling her children and many grandchildren. She was an active member of Blessed Sacrament Church for over 30 years. She was involved with the Altar Rosary Society and PTA at St. Vincent DePaul. She was the Block Watch captain of her neighborhood, an active quilter, and involved at the Eleanor Kahle Senior Center. She enjoyed her final years at the home of her youngest daughter, Deborah. She is proceeded in death by her parents, 6 siblings, and her granddaughter, Renee Kapelski. She is survived by her 3 children, Jack (Pat) Kapelski, Judy (Ranta), and Deborah (John) Szczepanski; 6 grandchildren, Brad, Brent, Evan, Bryan, Michelle, and Brennan; 8 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Special thanks to Dr. Katrapati and his staff, Dr. Bingle, Monica Jessica and Michelle for all of the support. Friends are invited to visit from 4:00 to 8:00pm Tuesday March 17th in the Ansberg-West Funeral Home 3000 Sylvania Avenue. Funeral Services will begin at 10:00 am on Wednesday March 18th in the Ansberg-West Funeral Home. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church at 11 am, followed by interment in Calvary Cemetery.
