John Hazen Tattersall, 72, of Toledo passed away on July 9, 2008 at Heather Downs Country Club, while playing golf the sport he loved most. He was born on September 6, 1935 to Arthur and Dorothy Tattersall, who preceded him in death as well as a loving sister Ruth Brown. John was a graduate of Whitmer High School, class of 1953. He was employed by the former Barton Tattersall Inc. which in later years he and his brother, William became president of and operated together. Many of his accomplishments became Toledo landmarks including Centenial Hall at the University of Toledo, Tirnova, Rosary Cathedral, and Y.M.C.A. to name a few. He personally oversaw numerous jobs and loved pitching in to lay bricks and block with his employees. He was on the Bricklayers Pension Fund Board (Local #3). He was also a member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 39 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Audrey Claudette Tattersall; daughters, Pamela (James) Williams, Audrey Tattersall (Tonie), Susan (Thomas) Best; son, John C. Tattersall; 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; special friend Cam Smith whom he loved as a brother as well as many others who cared for him and his family. He will be missed my many who came to know a kind and caring man who always saw the good in everyone. Friends are invited to visit from 2:00-8:00PM on Sunday July 13, 2008 in the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Ave. where funeral services will begin on Monday at 11:00AM. Rev. Merlin Jacobs Officiant. Interment in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
