Obituary for Leah A Foust

Leah A. Foust, 78, of Toledo, passed away Monday, January 20, 2014, at the Franciscan Care Center. She was in Toledo and was the daughter of Frederick and Emma (Masler) Michaels. Leah worked in advertising and graphic design for over 20 years, at AP Parts. She then went into partnership with the Graphics Group, where she retired. In the early 1970's, Leah along with her husband Bill, where among the founding members of the Community of the Risen Christ Catholic Church and currently was member of Blessed Sacrament Church where she was a lay distributor. She was member of the advisory body to the Bishop and served on the Toledo Diocesan Pastoral Council. She volunteered at Toledo Grows and at North Toledo Community Events. Leah did extensive traveling, going to Rome and Hungry. She also met Pope John Paul II, in California. Leah's life centered around her faith and her family and she was very proud of her Hungarian Heritage. Survivors include her children, Susan Frederick, Cindy (Darren) Lougheed, Lynn Foust and Lee Foust; sisters, Jean Raker, Sue (Bob) Schaad, Cathy (Jim) Bedee, Lillian (Mike) French and Barbara (Al) Elias. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and the companionship of her many friends. Leah was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bill Foust; brother, Gary Michaels and her beagle, Katie. Friends are invited to visit from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, in the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Avenue, (between Secor and Douglas Roads), where a scripture service will be at 7 p.m. Prayers will begin at 9:30 a.m. Friday from the funeral home, followed by the funeral mass at 10 a.m., in Blessed Sacrament Church. Monsignor Michael Billian will officiate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
